The fine print, minus the fog
Privacy Policy
The short version: this site uses no analytics, no trackers, and no cookies. The only personal data we handle is an email address you choose to send us so we can tell you when the game launches.
Effective July 1, 2026
What we collect
An email address, only if you send us one. The “Get notified at launch” form on our homepage currently works by opening your own email app; the message you send arrives in our inbox like any other email. We keep your address for one purpose: sending you a single email when AI Guardians launches. There is no newsletter and no follow-up marketing.
Nothing else. We run no analytics scripts, set no cookies, and load no third-party trackers, fonts, or embeds. Everything on this site (fonts, images, the trailer video) is served from our own domain.
One technical note for completeness: the site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may process standard technical data (such as IP addresses) in its server logs to serve and secure the site. That data goes to GitHub as our host; we do not see or use it. See GitHub’s privacy statement for details.
What the game collects
AI Guardians runs on your own device (or in your browser), and it stores your saves and settings there. Playing the game requires no account and no sign-up. If you play through a distribution platform such as itch.io, that platform’s own privacy policy applies to your use of it.
What we do with your email
- We send you one email when the game goes live. That’s the whole job.
- We never sell your address.
- We never share it with third parties.
- We delete it on request, and once the launch email has served its purpose we have no reason to keep it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, we treat these as standard: you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you’re in the EU or UK, these are your rights under the GDPR; if you’re in California, under the CCPA. In practice the answer will be short, because the most we could hold is your email address.
To exercise any of these, email hello@aiguardians.games and we’ll take care of it.
Children
AI Guardians is written for older teens and up, and this website is aimed at the same audience, including teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their email address, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, for example if we add a proper sign-up service for the launch list, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. The commitment stays the same: collect as little as possible, use it only for what you asked for.
